Tees & Stripes

Black and Whites stripes are all the rage right now.  One problem I have heard many ladies encounter is how to wear them.  I got these striped jeans at "Bee Hive" a local boutique and thought they would go brilliantly with my Celine tee that my husband and I bought while visiting Paris last month.  Celine stores are a dime a dozen over there and full of everything beautiful!!!  I saw this tee and had to have it since it's so versatile and so incredibly soft!

I paired the jeans with this tee for the obvious reason that it too is black and white.  Then I put it with a bunch of gold and black jewelry and voila!  I have also seen these jeans with flowy white tops and pops of color.  A lot of girls are wearing them with neons, if you have some…go for it.  I am a pretty conservative dresser and neon is not a color that I have a plethora of in my wardrobe.  This outfit is about as edgy and "hip" as it gets for me!  Although, I have started to wear knuckle rings, which to me is super edgy!  It's important to step slightly outside of your comfort zone when pulling together the perfect ensemble.  However, if you are too uncomfortable, you won't carry yourself with the confidence it takes to pull it off and you will seem as awkward as you feel!  I don't ever leave the house until my gut tells me it's a good choice.  I'm a fashion weirdo!

Let's Go Boot Scootin'

We are heading out to a friends surprise birthday party where we will be learning how to Line Dance!  Being the Big City girl that I am (married to a small town boy), I like taking my best shot at looking like a Country Girl when the opportunity presents itself!  I'll be honest, It's not my strong suit when it comes to fashion.  I think I still look like a city girl but hey, what can you do?  You can take the girl out of the city, but….you get it!

So when dressing "Country" the obvious thing to reach for is your Cowboy boots (or Cowgirl for you feminists out there)!  When styling with boots there are many things you have to take into consideration.  For example: if the boots are on the lower end (mine pictured below are medium to high  height)  then you can wear them with a longer skirt.  The higher the boots the shorter the skirt needs to be (while keeping it ladylike of course).  One thing that I always think goes famously with boots is a sweet white lacy dress or something super girlie with a floral pattern on it.  So I reached for my spaghetti strap short sun dress.  It's comfortable, breathes well and it's the perfect length to compliment my boots.  I finished off the look with my denim jacket and some Kendra Scott gems!  Once you perfect your "Boot Scootin'" attire, all you gotta do is grab yourself a Cowboy and hit the dance floor!  I'll let you guys know how that goes ;)!

Feels Like The 4th of July

Oh wait it IS the 4th of July!  Today is a gorgeous day and we are going to our restaurant with some friends to watch fireworks on the rooftop.  Obviously, it's customary to wear red, white and blue.  So that is exactly what I did…I even did my red lips!  Below I have the name of the red lipstick I am wearing.  Remember that the same color red may not look right on you. I searched for months before finding the perfect red.  Red is not a color you can just pick up at the drugstore without having tried it before.  Go to your local department store and try different brands (they all have varying shades of red). Have a makeup consultant try a few different hues on you.  Once you find one you love, stick to it!  I always say, finding the right shade of red is like finding the right man.  You won't find the perfect one just anywhere, you must be choosy and set your standards high!

I finally got you some quality photos, including accessory close ups :)  You guys have earned it after having to look at the terrible self portraits for over a month now! Kudos to my darling husband for his mad photog skills!

I don't own a red handbag.  Luckily, it's summertime, so I can pull off wearing my cork clutch with the red shoes and belt.  This is why I adore cork, it goes with everything in the spring and summer.  I will have to find a replacement for the winter time because I refuse to pack up my red heels just because the temps drop!

Here is a close up of my beloved red Manolos!  Funny that my favorite heels aren't a pair of my red bottoms, but my red tops!  Don't worry Christian Louboutin, I still LOVE you!

I hope that everyone has a happy and safe 4th of July tonight!  Be sure to help keep our roads safe and CALL A CAB if you have one too many cocktails!

Spontaneity Is the Spice of Life!

Sorry it's been a few days since my last post.  We have been changing cities almost daily since being in the South of France, so there's rarely time to blog!

Here we are, heading to the train station in Paris.

Sunnies: Chanel
Scarf:  Shop in Paris
Top: Zara
Bangle: Hermes

Since my last post,  we have visited Nice, Cannes & St Tropez.  We rented a sweet little 1956 Mercedes SL 190 and have been cruising to nearby hot spots!

Cruising our ride to the city of Grasse to visit the Fragonard Perfumier Museum!

When Chris and I travel,  we are known for driving an hour or two away from our hotel to a cool spot and deciding to stay with nothing but the clothes we wore to town! Yesterday, we drove to St Tropez and laid out on the beach all afternoon.  We then decided to stay the night.  It's an hour and a half away from our hotel in Nice,  so staying the night sounded more fun than driving back at the end of the day!

Luckily St Tropez is known as a tiny city with big city amenities.  They have to be with the kind of people that frequent there. So since all we had were the clothes on our backs, we had to do some shopping to buy all of the comforts of home for the night.  Unfortunately for Chris,  I'm not low maintenance!

By the end of our shopping trip  to buy toiletries, perfume, makeup, clothes & undies, it was time to shower and hit the town.

We enjoyed a late dinner and walking through the tiny streets of this vintage town!

We woke up to the most beautiful ocean view and had breakfast over looking the Mediterranean!

St Tropez, view from our room.

After that, we headed back to Nice to catch some sun and spend the day on the beach here.

Back in Nice.

We found all of this amazing Sea Glass!  I was obsessed,  the ocean just happens to producer glass in all of my favorite colors!:)

Off to bed now,  I'm sun burned, tired & we are heading to Monaco and Italy tomorrow!  After that,  we are heading home to see our furry babies!!

Dressing for the Occasion

My husband and I went to the special viewing party for our new Mexican restaurant last night.  That being said, please excuse any typos or sentences that just don't make sense, I am a bit worn out today!

When dressing for an occasion such as these, there is a fine line between being over dressed and under dressed.  I was perusing through Anthropologie a couple of months back and stumbled upon this gem!  I saw it and knew immediately that it was what I needed for this particular event.

First off, green is my favorite color of all time.  Secondly, the floral print had that Mexican flare I was looking for on this occasion.  It was a very lady like, timeless length, which I love.  On to my FAVORITE part of this dress...it has pockets!!!!!!  Holy moly, you better believe that this dress is being packed for our Eurotrip next week.  I think I will pair it with my cork flats and do a low chignon to walk through Versailles or Monaco, all whilst having my hands in said pockets!

Anyway, I paired this casual yet chic dress with a pair of heels, an evening clutch, a festive Spanish style side chignon and voila.  Not too dressy and not too casual.

Now can we please talk about how perfect my gorgeous husband looks?  Although, I am a bit biased since I styled him myself.  It's Southern gentleman mixed with the East Coast prep.  Love everything about this outfit,  I would be perfectly happy if he wore this every day!!
